Treaty Trader (E-1)
The E-1 Treaty Trader visa is designed for individuals or employees of companies from treaty countries who engage in substantial trade with the United States. This visa category fosters international commerce by allowing foreign nationals to enter the U.S. to carry out trade in goods, services, banking, insurance, technology, or other industries.
To qualify for an E-1 visa, the applicant must be a citizen of a country with which the United States maintains a qualifying treaty of commerce and navigation. The trade between the U.S. and the treaty country must be substantial, involving a continuous flow of sizable international transactions. Additionally, the majority of the trade must occur between the United States and the treaty country.
The E-1 visa is particularly advantageous because it provides flexibility for treaty traders and their employees to travel in and out of the U.S. while conducting business. It also allows accompanying family members to reside in the U.S., with spouses eligible to apply for work authorization.
Our firm specializes in assisting businesses and individuals in navigating the E-1 application process. From ensuring treaty eligibility to compiling detailed documentation of trade activities, we are here to help you succeed in leveraging the opportunities this visa provides for international trade and business growth.
