By investing as little as $50,000, you can obtain E-2 investor status by starting a new business or purchasing an existing one. The investor must show ownership of at least 50 percent.
The E-2 Visa is only available to citizens of countries the U.S. has E-2 treaties with. These countries include Pakistan, Canada, Great Britain, and Mexico. While an E-2 Visa does not lead directly to a Green Card, it can provide you with benefits such as:
- Work authorization for you and your spouse
- Social Security Numbers for you and your spouse
- The ability for your children to legally attend school
- The ability to renew E-2 status every 2 years without limit
- Premium processing by the government, which allows for quick approvals
While a minimum investment amount is not specified by USCIS, our clients have been successful investing as little as $50,000.
Maredia Immigration Law also offers assistance with forming, registering, and amending entities; applying for a Federal Employment Identification Number; creating purchase and/or operating agreements; and drafting gift affidavits and/or loan promissory notes.
